Old Man Winter Trail Race
APPLETON, NY: The Winery at Marjim Manor - Please join us on Sunday January 28, 2023 for the Old Man Winter Trail Race at Marjim Manor. The race is being brought to you by iRun WNY and will take place entirely on Marjim Manor and adjacent property in Appleton, New York. CLICK HERE to learn about the history and legend of Marjim Manor. All participants who register by Friday January 19th will receive a special edition Old Man Winter embroidered hat. We will order a small number of extra hats that will be distributed on a first-come, first serve basis and then an alternate gift item (TBD) will be provided to all participants who signed up after the January 19th deadline.
START/FINISH
We have designed a scenic single loop course that takes place primarily on grass, gravel trails, farm roads, and through the Bittner/Singer apple orchards. There is also a short section of asphalt roadway at the end of the course leading back to the start/finish line. We are planning to use a course that is similar (VIEW MAP) to the one we used for our fall trail run (Approx 3.2 miles).Race start time is set for 9am.
WEATHER ALERT! Keep your eye on the weather leading up to race day. Property owners will plow all the trails a couple days before the race if needed. Depending on the weather that day, running trails could be drifted and/or snow covered, clear, muddy, frozen, soft, or all of the above. Prepare for the weather and dress appropriately.

POST RACE CELEBRATIONJoin us after the race for what is sure to become one of the most unique post race celebrations in Western New York! Race participants will enjoy spectacular winter landscapes, Lake Ontario scenic overlook while running, finish line music, post race snacks, and of course the winery is open for business after your run. There will also be an outdoor bonfire for your enjoyment after the race!PARKING
There will be plenty of free parking available at Marjim Manor.
AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Awards will be presented to the 1st place overall male and female finishers. All participants can download custom finisher certificates from the event page and view/share finish line photos following the race!
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older.

CANCELLATION POLICY
In the event of foul weather, public safety concerns, or for any other reason deemed necessary by race organizers (ex: state of emergency, shelter-in-place, limit on social gatherings, etc), we want runners to know up front that we reserve the right to reschedule the event date if needed OR convert this to a virtual 5K race. There will be no refunds.

Professional timing and finish line services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
